Due to popular demand, a second date for Paddy Casey at the Asgard Theatre has been added.
We are delighted to welcome Paddy Casey to the intimate surroundings of the Asgard Theatre early in the New Year. Paddy will perform two concerts, on Friday February 21 and Saturday, February 22 respectively.
Paddy received his first guitar when just 11 or 12, and learnt his trade by busking and gigging for the next twelve years. Approached by an A&R scout from Sony Records, Paddy spent some time in Sun Studios in Dublin, recording a number of tracks, leading to the release of his acclaimed debut album, “Amen (So Be It)” in 1999. He then toured extensively with The Pretenders, R.E.M., Ian Brown, Blondie and Tracy Chapman.
In 2003 Paddy released his second album, which became one of Ireland’s biggest selling album releases, the multi-platinum “Living”. Paddy’s success saw him touring with U2 and Pearl Jam.
He then travelled to Los Angeles to record with George Drakoulias, working alongside some great musicians like James Gadson and Steve Ferrone. The recordings were completed upon his return home to Dublin, with producer Pat Donne at the helm and in early 2007 the album “Addicted To Company (Part 1)” was released.
Paddy spent the next couple of years writing and recording at home, aiming to retain a raw and natural feel to the music and in 2012 released his fourth album, “The Secret Life Of”.
In recent years Paddy collaborated with singer Kim Hayden, producing the single “Out Of Control”, and more recently two singles, “Turn This Ship Around” and “Everything Must Change”. He is currently working on a new album.
